These terms cover lessons booked through BitWithBite — for students who book them, tutors who teach them, and organisations that buy access for their people. They sit alongside our general Terms of Service and Privacy Policy; where this page and the general terms disagree about lessons, this page applies.
BitWithBite is a marketplace. Tutors are independent people offering their own teaching services; they are not our employees, agents or partners. We provide the platform that connects them with students, handles bookings and payments, and keeps the records.
We do not supervise lessons or guarantee any particular outcome. We do check that a tutor's account is approved before they can be booked, and we act on reports about conduct — but the teaching relationship is between the student and the tutor.
Your first lesson with any given tutor is free. It is one free trial per tutor, not one per account — you are welcome to try several tutors, but only once each.
A trial lesson is a real lesson. If you book one and do not attend, that trial is used up. If you cancel before it takes place, it is not.
The price shown on a tutor's profile is the price you pay for a lesson. There is no separate booking fee or service charge on top.
Payment is arranged and confirmed by us. A lesson is not treated as paid until we have confirmed the money has arrived.
You confirm that a lesson happened, not your tutor. Once your tutor marks a lesson as delivered, it appears on your dashboard and waits for you.
If you do not confirm or dispute it within 3 days, we confirm it for you automatically, so a tutor is not left unpaid because a message was missed. If something was wrong with the lesson, tell us within those 3 days.
Report it from your dashboard using Tutor did not attend. You are not charged for a lesson your tutor missed, and the report is recorded against their account. A tutor who repeatedly misses lessons is removed from our tutor listings.
Please only report a genuine no-show. Reports are records about a real person's livelihood, and we review them.
You may cancel a booking that has not yet taken place. Please give your tutor as much notice as you reasonably can — they have set that time aside for you.
If you paid for a lesson that did not take place, or your tutor did not attend, you are entitled to a full refund of that lesson. Contact us and we will arrange it.
We do not refund lessons that were delivered as booked simply because you changed your mind afterwards. If a lesson fell seriously short of what was offered, tell us within 3 days and we will look into it.
You are independent. You set your own rates, subjects and availability, and you are responsible for your own taxes, and for any licences or registrations your work requires where you live. Nothing here creates employment, partnership or agency.
You keep a share of every lesson fee, and that share rises with the hours you teach:
When you start you keep 50%. After 30 hours taught you keep 55%, rising in steps to a maximum of 80%.
Only hours from lessons we have confirmed as paid count towards this. Free trial lessons do not count, and neither do lessons that were delivered but never paid for.
Reaching a new step applies to your next booking onwards. Lessons you have already taught keep the rate they were booked under — a rate change never reprices work already done, in either direction.
The first lesson you teach a new student is free to them, and unpaid for you. It is how students decide whether to continue, and it does not count towards your hours. If you do not wish to offer trial lessons, tell us before you list.
A lesson becomes payable once the student has confirmed it happened (or it auto-confirms after 3 days) and we have confirmed the student's payment. Both are required.
You can mark a lesson delivered, but you cannot mark your own lesson complete or paid — that is deliberate, and it protects students and tutors alike from disputes about what actually happened.
Your dashboard shows what you have earned, what has been paid out to you, and what is still owed. Payouts are made to the account you register with us, normally within 3–5 working days of becoming payable.
If you cannot make a lesson, cancel it in advance and tell your student. Missing a lesson without notice is recorded as a no-show.
After 2 missed lessons your profile is hidden from our tutor listings. Hidden means exactly that: your account, your profile, your booking history and any earnings owed to you all remain intact, and you keep access to your dashboard. You simply stop appearing in search until we have spoken to you. Contact us and we will review it.
You may buy a Featured or Pro listing, which places you higher in our tutor listings and adds a badge. It buys position, nothing else. It does not change your rating, your reviews, or how students are shown your profile beyond that placement, and we do not describe paid listings as endorsements. Listings run for the period purchased and are not refundable once live.
You agree to teach the subjects you have listed, to a reasonable standard, and to behave professionally towards students. We may hide or remove a profile where we have a serious concern about conduct or safety — including immediately, and before any investigation, where a student may be at risk.
A school licence gives a named number of seats for a fixed period. Each seat gives one named person full access to BitWithBite course content for as long as the licence runs.
To run this properly we keep a record of each booking: who taught whom, the subject, the date, the length in hours, the price, what was paid, who confirmed the lesson, and any no-show reports. Tutors can see their own lessons and earnings; students can see their own lessons and hours. Our Privacy Policy explains this in full, including how long we keep it and how to ask for a copy or deletion.
If something goes wrong with a lesson, tell us first — most problems are settled quickly and directly. Contact us within 3 days of the lesson where you can, while both people still remember it clearly.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, including repeated no-shows, attempts to take payment outside the platform to avoid fees, abusive behaviour, or false no-show reports. Where money is owed to a suspended tutor for lessons genuinely taught, we still pay it.
We may update these terms. If we change how tutors are paid, we will tell affected tutors before the change takes effect, and the change will apply to future bookings, not to lessons already taught.
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Lahore, Pakistan.
