🧠 Quiz Engine
The quiz engine tracks your accuracy, response speed, hint usage, and confidence rating for every concept. Questions get harder when your streak is strong and easier when you're struggling. The brain model (stored locally) remembers your weak areas across sessions and prioritises them automatically.
💡 Tip: Rate your confidence after each answer — this is the most important signal the engine uses to personalise your quiz.
Survival and Blitz modes are designed for rapid-fire testing. Hints slow the pace and reduce the challenge. Switch to Standard or Timed mode to access the full 3-step hint system, which reveals progressively more specific clues while deducting XP.
Every question is tagged to a cognitive level: Remember, Understand, Apply, Analyse, Evaluate, or Create. The coloured badge in the top-left corner of each question card shows the level. The engine balances your quiz across levels rather than just easy/medium/hard ratings.
After a wrong answer, the engine matches your error pattern to a database of common misconceptions. It identifies whether you confused related terms, misread a True/False qualifier, or selected a plausible-but-wrong definition. The red panel explains WHY you were wrong and gives a targeted fix strategy.
XP is earned for correct answers (10 XP each) with bonuses for high scores (55 XP for 80%+, 28 XP for 60%+). Hints cost 2 XP each. XP levels use a logarithmic curve — early levels are fast to reach, later ones require sustained mastery. Your level and XP persist in your browser's local storage.
🛠️ Developer Tools
Most failures are CORS errors — the target server blocks requests from browser origins. Try: (1) enabling CORS in your own API's response headers, (2) adding a proxy, or (3) using the cURL snippet the tool generates and running it from your terminal instead.
💡 Tip: Open browser DevTools → Network tab to see the exact error. CORS errors show as "blocked" or "no 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header".
In the Regex Tester, use the "✨ AI:" input at the top. Type a plain English description like "Pakistani mobile number" or "strong password with special characters" and click Generate. The engine matches your description against 200+ pre-built patterns and applies the result directly to the tester.
After pasting JSON into the formatter and clicking Format, click the "🌳 Tree" button. This switches to a collapsible tree view colour-coded by type: strings (green), numbers (amber), booleans (red), arrays (purple), objects (blue). Each value has a copy button visible on hover.
JWT tokens contain an exp claim with a Unix timestamp. The decoder compares this to the current time. If exp is in the past, your token is expired. You'll need to request a new token from your authentication server. The decoder shows exactly how many seconds ago it expired.
💾 Account & Progress
Your brain model, XP, and tool workspace states are stored in your browser's localStorage. This means your progress is private to your device — it never leaves your browser unless you log in with an account. It persists between sessions unless you clear your browser data.
Open the Quiz Engine → click the "🧠" button (bottom right) to open the Brain Panel → click "↺ Reset" at the top of the page. This clears all concept accuracy scores, streaks, and session history. Your XP total is stored separately and is not affected.
The Developer Toolkit is installable as a PWA (Progressive Web App) and works offline once installed. The Quiz Engine requires an internet connection for knowledge gathering from external sources, but your brain model and progress data are fully local.
🤖 AI Tutor & Other AI Tools
The AI Tutor uses the Anthropic Claude API to answer any question on any subject — mathematics, biology, history, coding, Urdu grammar, and more. Ask follow-up questions, request step-by-step explanations, or ask it to simplify an answer. It works in 8+ languages and is available 24/7. For best results, be specific: instead of "explain photosynthesis", ask "explain the light-dependent reactions of photosynthesis for A-Level Biology exam".
Go to AI Tools → Assessment Checker. Upload your exam paper (PDF or image), select the subject and mark scheme type, and submit. The AI scores your answers against mark-scheme criteria, highlights specific mistakes, explains what was missing, and gives an overall grade with improvement suggestions. Supports handwritten and typed papers.
The AI Tutor answers questions directly. The Homework Helper is designed to guide you through solving a problem yourself — it gives structured hints, checks each step of your working, and teaches the method rather than just giving the answer. It works best for maths and sciences where the process matters as much as the result.
The Math Solver uses browser-based computation (mathjs library) for most operations. If you get an unexpected result: (1) check that you've selected the correct solver type (e.g. "quadratic" vs "cubic"), (2) make sure your input uses standard notation (e.g. "x^2 + 3x + 2 = 0"), (3) try the AI Tutor for a second opinion. Report persistent errors to info@bitwithbite.com with the exact input.
Simple: plain English, no jargon — for first encounters with a concept. Exam: mark-scheme language, structured for exam answers. Visual: uses analogies and mental models to make abstract concepts concrete. Deep: full technical explanation for advanced understanding. You can switch between modes on the same topic to build layered understanding.
🎓 Courses & Cheatsheets
Course progress (completed lessons, quiz scores) is saved in your browser's localStorage automatically. It persists between sessions on the same browser and device. To sync progress across devices, create a free account — your progress is then saved to our backend and loads from anywhere.
Yes — use your browser's print function (Ctrl+P / Cmd+P) and select "Save as PDF". The cheatsheets are designed with print-friendly CSS that removes navigation elements. For the best result, select "Background graphics" in the print options to preserve the colour coding.
Yes — MDCAT courses are aligned to the PMDC syllabus, IELTS courses follow the British Council band descriptors, A-Level content follows Cambridge and Edexcel specifications, and O-Level content follows CIE. Programming courses follow industry standards. The quiz engine generates questions based on the exact topic you type, so you can target any sub-topic in your syllabus.
🎮 Games
Yes — all 20+ games (Battle Quiz RPG, Memory Match, Escape Room, Code Puzzle, Survival Quiz, Speed Maths, etc.) pull from the same knowledge base as the quiz engine. They're not just entertainment — they test actual exam-relevant concepts. The Battle Quiz RPG, for example, uses questions from the AI quiz engine's question bank.
Most games save high scores and session state to localStorage automatically. The Survival Quiz and Battle Quiz RPG track your current level and streak across sessions. Career Mode saves your job applications and skills progress. All data is local unless you log in with an account.
